Habit Hacks for Happiness started with a simple observation: most habit and productivity advice makes people feel like they’re already failing before they begin. We wanted to build something different — grounded in real psychology, but focused on gentle, sustainable change rather than willpower and perfectionism.

The book’s core framework, the Discomfort-to-Growth Loop, along with Neuro-Habit Mapping and identity-based habit tools, is developed through research into behavior change, habit science, and mindfulness — translated into worksheets, prompts, and strategies you can use the same day you read them.

A note on the name: “Tess Alder” is a pen name for this project rather than a single identifiable author. We use AI tools, including for the imagery associated with the name, as part of how we research, draft, and produce our books, worksheets, and articles. We’re sharing this openly because we think readers deserve to know how the guidance they’re using is made.

What stays constant is the standard behind the work: every resource is reviewed as part of our editorial process before it’s published, with the same goal — practical, warm, science-informed guidance you can actually use, without shame or pressure.
